On June 21st, in celebration of Aboriginal Day, St. Mary's students and staff, along with FVPS, went to the Fort Vermilion Community Complex, where we did Aboriginal arts and crafts, watched and participated in a Powwow, and watched some home grown Metis jiggers! It was an awesome show! Thank you to Bobbi Paul and the Fort Vermilion Metis Local #74 for organizing this event, in partnership with the FV Community Complex.
The Fort Vermilion RCMP detachment also had an open house today, where our students visited with many of the members, enjoyed hot dogs, juice and cookies, and got a tour of the detachment and the cell block. The members did a great job with their presentations, talking about the many aspects of their jobs. Thank you to everyone!
